
Jefferson City Fire Department called to a structure fire in the 800 block of Clark Avenue Saturday morning at 7:05am.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the second floor of the home. Jefferson City Police Department located a resident in the 2nd floor of the home and safely helped the person out of the home.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire and contained it to a bedroom in the home where the fire started. That room took significant fire damage, while the house took significant smoke and water damage throughout.
A resident of the home was treated on scene and released for smoke inhalation, while a JCPD officer was also taken to an area hospital for smoke inhalation.
Two people were displaced by the fire, which was ruled an accident.
