Morgan County Prosecuting Attorney Dustin Dunklee used his personal facebook account early this morning to alert people in Morgan County, that the person believed to be responsible for shooting a woman in the head in the 100 block of South Burke Street in Versailles Monday morning was taken into custody at approximately 6:00 p.m. Monday night.

Police said Monday that they believe the incident was of personal nature and that there was no cause for alarm to the public.

The suspect was taken into custody in Miller County. The post said neither Dunklee’s office nor the Versailles Police Department will release additional information at this time.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the suspect.
