A shooting Tuesday afternoon in Brunswick has left one person with a single gunshot wound.

Officers were dispatched at 3:50 p.m.,to the 200 block of North Wood Street in Brunswick. According to a report from Chariton COunty Sheriff’s Office, upon arrival, responding units located an individual with an apparent gunshot wound to the thigh. The victim was transported to a hospital in Columbia for medical treatment.

One individual was detained at the scene and transported to the Chariton County Sheriff’s Department for questioning.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
