Columbia Regional Airport Poised to Announce New Flights
Excitement is building at Columbia Regional Airport this morning, where officials are set to allegedly announce new flights during this mornings news conference at 8:30am.
While the airport hasn’t confirmed details, Allegiant Air’s website lists two Florida routes, one to Destin-Fort Walton Beach and another to Orlando Sanford with service beginning in early June.
The announcement comes after the airport recorded its busiest month ever in October, serving nearly 29,000 travelers.
Airport Officials say, the growth shows more travelers are choosing to fly local.
With Thanksgiving travel ramping up, Airport Officials expect more than 5,000 passengers this week.
More details are expected after today’s news conference.
