In Columbia, a man has pleaded guilty to several drug charges connected to a 2023 overdose death.
33-year-old Derek Miltimore admitted to second-degree drug trafficking, two counts of drug possession, and unlawful use of a weapon.
He was sentenced to 120 days in jail and ordered to complete a drug treatment program. Miltimore also faces a 20-year suspended sentence with credit for time served.
Miltimore was initially charged with second-degree murder in the fentanyl-related death of a Columbia resident in May of 2023.
