40,000 pounds of food heads to The Food Bank

A truck delivered 40,000 pounds of food to The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri in Columbia on Wednesday.

This delivery is part of a nationwide effort by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in partnership with America250, celebrating the United States’ upcoming 250th anniversary by delivering 250 semitrucks loaded with food to food banks in every state.

Missouri was one of the first five states to receive a truck this week, joining Oregon, Arkansas, Michigan, and Texas.

The food includes canned fruits, vegetables, meats, pasta, flour, pancake mix, and dried milk.

This initiative aims not only to feed those in need but also to inspire community service nationwide through 2026.
