A Jefferson City man is behind bars after police say he sexually assaulted a gas station worker, then led them on a high-speed chase, early Friday morning on Ellis Boulevard.
The victim, who worked at the business, told officers at the scene that 30-year-old Jimmy Kenda had propositioned to pay them for sex and then after they had repeatedly denied him, Kenda then touched them inappropriately, according to the probable cause statement.
While officers were still taking the report, they spotted Kenda at another gas station. When they tried to talk to him, he sped away reaching over 60-100 miles an hour in heavy rain conditions.
The chase ended when he crashed into a rock embankment on Route C.
Kenda was taken to the hospital with injuries and is now facing several felony charges.
