Jefferson City School Board Seeks Applicants to Fill Vacant Seat

The Jefferson City School Board has accepted the resignation of board president Erika Leonard from her position, effective after Wednesday night’s meeting.

The district is now taking applications to fill the open board seat through January seventh.

The board plans to review and discuss applicants at its January eighth meeting before choosing a replacement who will serve through April 2027.

The position is unpaid, and board members are expected to attend monthly meetings and committee sessions as needed.

Applications can be submitted in person at the Jefferson City School District offices at 315 East Dunklin.

There are no filing fees or petitions required.
