The city of Holts Summit now has a smoking ordinance in place that restricts smoking in public areas.

Holts Summit City Administrator says it is a simple short ordinance giving business’s the choice of going smoking or non-smoking.

Hess also says the city will be putting signs up for designated smoking areas at both city parks.

A potential fine of fifty or a maximum two hundred fifty dollars has been set for violations.
