Two Arrested For Drugs and Weapons In Cole County

A man and woman are in the Cole County Jail after an arrest last (Thursday) night for weapons and drugs.

Cole County Sheriff’s Deputies went to the 2700 block of Bess Street in reference to a possible weapons violation.

Upon arrival deputies say they found a man and woman intoxicated shooting off fireworks and observed a handgun and marijuana in a truck in plain view.

A search of the vehicle lead to the discovery of 3 handguns, 134 grams of methamphetamine, 30 grams of Molly a form of ecstasy, pills, digital scales and several used syringes.

Formal charges for trafficking, and unlawful use of a weapon are pending.
