One Seriously Injured, One in Custody After Stolen Vehicle Crash

One person is in serious condition and one is in custody after a crash in Audrain County today. [Tuesday]

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers responded to a crash at 10:26 this morning on Audrain Road 823, on the Audrain and Callaway County border.

Investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen from Callaway County. The driver of the car was flown by Staff for Life to University Hospital in serious condition.

The passenger fled on foot following the crash. The Highway Patrol deployed a helicopter to the area. After a search by Troopers and deputies from Audrain and Callaway Counties, the suspect was taken into custody at 12:12.

The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash site, and Callaway County will be handling the criminal investigation.

The names of the vehicle occupants have not been released.
