Columbia Chamber Endorses Prop 1
The Columbia Chamber of Commerce has endorsed Proposition 1, a bond proposal that would fund nearly $39 million worth of projects to modernize the city’s water treatment systems.
The upgrades will include additional reliability and safety elements.
To finance the revenue bonds, there will be four rate increases to total eleven percent to cover the payments.
The last time the city upgraded the water system was in 2008.
The issue will appear in the August 7th ballot.
