Election Day Expectations

Election day is here and a large number of Missourians are expected to vote in person today.

According to figures from the Missouri secretary of state’s office, local election authorities are forecasting a statewide voter turnout of 75%.

About 828,000 people have already returned absentee or mail-in ballots as of Sunday, which is 3 times as many that were counted in the 2016 presidential election.

Missouri has an estimated 4.3 million registered voters.

Boone County Clerk Brianna Lennon says she expects about 90,000 ballots to be cast in Boone County.

Polls open at 6am this morning and close at 7pm tonight.

As long as voters are standing in line by the 7pm cutoff, they will be able to cast their votes.
