Audrain County Judge Hands Down Life Sentence to Man In Connection With Montgomery County Murder
A Jefferson City man is now sentenced to life in prison in connection to a 2017 Montgomery County murder of Benjamin Renick.
According to online court records an Audrain County judge gave the maximum sentence for second degree murder to Michael Humphrey on Monday.
Humphrey was found guilty of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
His charge was reduced to second-degree murder after he agreed to testify and help the prosecution in co-conspirator Lynlee Renick’s trial.
Lynlee was found guilty of second-degree murder and armed criminal action last month and will be officially sentenced on January 24th.
