KWWR Sports Report 2/1/22

The Mexico Bulldogs boys and girls basketball teams are scheduled for a non-conference varsity double header against the Macon Tigers tonight (Tuesday) at the Mexico High School.

The Mexico girls tip at 5pm with the boys to follow.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is taking responsibility for the team’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship game on Sunday.

Reid held his end-of-season press conference yesterday (Monday) and said that his team’s 2nd half performance was not up to par and that the Chiefs will work to improve that in the offseason.

He indicated he plans on returning to the sidelines next year.

The Cincinnati Bengals will face the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 13th.

The St. Louis Cardinals have signed Aaron Brooks to a minor league deal.

The announcement was made yesterday (Monday) that the 31 year old veteran of four big league seasons inked a deal as a minor league free agent returning from a stint overseas.

Brooks spent the 2020-2021 season in the Korean Baseball Organization, where he notched a 2.79 ERA.

He was a 9th round pick by the Royals back in 2011, and made his MLB debut with Kansas City in 2014-2015.
