Improvements Coming to Highway 54 North of Jefferson City
Changes to improve traffic flow are coming to Highway 54 in Jefferson City.
According to a release from MoDOT, the highway will be widened to six lanes, three in each direction, from the Missouri River north to the Highway 63 / 94 interchange.
The plan also includes re-striping of the eastbound Missouri River bridge to become four lanes.
The Route W bridge over Highway 54 and the interchange bridge at 63 & 94 will all be rehabbed.
Work is expected to take place in 2024 with the contract expected to be awarded in December of 2023.
