KWWR Sports Report 2/10/23
The Mexico Bulldogs are on the road tonight in basketball action.
The boys are in St. Elizabeth taking on the Hornets who are 15-9 on the season, 6-3 at home.
Mexico comes into the contest 14-8 on the season and 5-1 on the road.
Both teams are fairly even on points per game, Mexico at 63.8 and St. Elizabeth at 65 and both teams allow 55 points per game.
JV gets underway at 6:00 with the varsity to follow around 7:30.
On the girls side, they are in Jefferson City taking on the Capital City Cavaliers.
The Lady Dawgs are 8-14 on the season and 2-4 on the road while the Cavaliers are 5-17 on the season with a 2-5 record at home.
They have both played Boonville and Kirksville this season with Mexico falling to both the Pirates and the Tigers while Capital City picked up a win over Boonville in two overtimes and like Mexico, lost to Kirksville.
JV starts at 6:00 followed by varsity action around 7:15.

After the All-Star break and a bye week, Blues GM Doug Armstrong makes a deal with the Rangers.
In the trade, Vladimir Tarasenko and Niko Mikkola head to New York and in return, the Blues pick up a conditional first round pick in 2023, a fourth round pick in 2024, forward Sammy Blais and defenseman Hunter Skinner.
Vladi requested a trade two seasons ago according to Armstrong and had a list of teams he’s go to.
The opportunity arose and the deal was made.
Armstrong is excited to get Blais back and Skinner will head to the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds.
The Blues are back in action tomorrow night at home, hosting the Arizona Coyotes.
Puck drops at Enterprise Center at 7:00.

Patrick Mahomes is on his way to being the first NFL player in history to win multiple MVPs and multiple championships in his first six seasons.
All he needs to do is win the Super Bowl Sunday because he just picked up his second MVP award last night at the NFL Honors ceremony.
Offensive player of the Year went to Justin Jefferson of the Vikings, Nick Bosa of the 49ers picked up the Defensive Player of the Year, and Geno Smith of the Seahawks was the Comeback Player of the Year.
Medical and athletic training staff for the Bills and Bengals were also recognized during the awards as were the staff at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for saving Bills safety Damar Hamlin’s life.
Super Bowl LVII takes place in Arizona Sunday evening at 5:30.
