An early morning crash temporarily shut down part of I-70

A vehicle crash on Interstate 70 in Boone County this morning caused early-morning delays, according to MoDOT.

The agency’s traveler information map first flagged impacts just after 6 a.m., with westbound I-70 closures before Exit 133 reported at about 6:13 a.m.

Eastbound delays followed around 6:33 a.m. as emergency crews worked.

Left lanes were blocked on eastbound I-70 past Exit 133 at Route Z and Rangeline Road, but by 7 a.m. MoDOT announced the eastbound lane had reopened while all westbound lanes remained closed at mile marker 135, east of Columbia.

At 7:20 a.m., MoDOT said all lanes were back open.

No details about the crash or police response were immediately available. Drivers are urged to check MoDOT’s online traveler map for the latest updates.
