A mid-Missouri family found an exposed knife on the entry to a slide at Bethel Park in Columbia on Monday.

Community member Katie Schutte said that her child found the weapon while playing on the equipment, and that it was wedged between platforms with the blade pointing upward.

Law enforcement officers noted that there’s been an increase in homelessness in the area and people sleeping in the parks, which may be linked to the blade being on the playground.
