In response to MU President Mun Choi, Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe announced Sunday that she was calling for the  “convening a task force of city, county, university, business, and community leaders to address safety in a comprehensive and coordinated way,” she said. Adding, “At the same time, I will continue to support Chief (Jill) Schlude and the Columbia Police Department.”
