According to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) websites status report, the Callaway County nuclear power plant is not producing power this morning,
The plant shut down briefly last week. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) posted on its website that at 7:48 a.m. on November 12, the Callaway Energy Center had a problem with its auxiliary feedwater (AFW) system.
The NRC classified the issue as non-emergency.
The plant was shut down after water entered the generators and a vibration in a turbine was noted.
The report on the NRC’s website states that the plant was stable last week and that there was no impact on the health and safety of the public or plant personnel.
