A Columbia man charged in the shooting death of 18-year-old Kaidynce Payne has pleaded not guilty to new charges.
Nineteen-year-old Terell Fields entered the plea Monday in Boone County after a grand jury issued a new indictment earlier this month.
That indictment added two counts of stealing and gave jurors alternative charges to consider including second-degree murder or involuntary manslaughter.
Police say Fields fired the bullet that killed Payne at a hotel on Clark Lane back in February.
Fields denies firing a gun.
Fields is set for a pretrial conference January 5th, with a jury trial scheduled to start January 13th.
