A Columbia woman was sentenced to 22 years in prison Monday, for her role in a violent incident outside the Conley Road Walmart last year.
Prosecutors say 37-year-old Whitney Nevels-McKee pleaded guilty to several charges, including vehicle hijacking, kidnapping, and unlawful use of a weapon.
The 2024 incident forced the store into lockdown after Nevels-McKee reportedly stole a gun, threatened multiple drivers, and fired shots in the parking lot.
No one was killed, but the chaos left shoppers terrified. Nevels-McKee was arrested in May 2024 and entered her guilty plea in October.
