The Community R6 high school boys golf team earned a team score of 231 at the Palmyra Quad on Tuesday, Apr. 8, 2025.
Community R6 earned a team score of 231. With the following individual results.
“Head coach Bob Curtis says “In comparison to the last two meets that were cold and wet.
Jackson Park Golf Course in Palmyra was welcoming with upper 50’s for a temp and little to no wind and sunshine.
I was proud of the boys Tuesday night as one of our goals is to continue to move south with our team score getting at or near 200.
We shaved 10 strokes off our team average at Palmyra. We had a very competitive match with Class 2 in golf Highland who shot a 215 that saw the Trojans struggle on hole # 2 a long par five with out of bounds left.
We ended the night +17 over on that hole it definitely inflated our team score.
Excluding that hole we were in position for 3rd against the much bigger schools involved in Tuesday night’s meet.
It was the first time the boys had been on that course and they learned a lot.
We will be back next week and hopefully cut some strokes with a little course knowledge.
Class 2 in golf Palmyra shot a 145 and Monroe City shot a 168 on the night both are projected to compete for a district title in their respective districts.”
