As we get ready to turn our clocks back this Tonight for the end of daylight saving time, the American Red Cross has an important reminder: take a minute to test your smoke alarms.

In the past nine months, local Red Cross volunteers have helped nearly 400 people in our region after house fires. Simple steps like checking your alarms, replacing old batteries, and practicing an escape plan can truly save lives.

So, remember to set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on Tonight.
This means you will gain an extra hour of sleep
