Columbia Police are investigating what appears to be a deadly fall from a hunting tree stand. Officers were called Monday afternoon to a wooded area just east of Grace Lane, between East Richland Road and Interstate 70 Drive Southeast, where a man was found dead at the scene.

Columbia Police say the death appears to be accidental. Investigators have not yet released the man’s name, as next-of-kin have not been notified. as of 8:45 p.m Monday night
