Two people were killed in a three-vehicle crash early yesterday (Tuesday) morning in Morgan County on Highway 50 near Old Highway 50. According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 7:32am, when a 2013 Mercedes-Benz S Class – driven by an 18-year-old Sedalia man – was traveling eastbound when it rear-ended a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by a 48-year-old Cole Camp woman.
The crash pushed the Chevrolet into the oncoming lane, causing a head-on collision with a 2012 Mazda 3 – driven by a 38-year-old Russellville man.
The Russellville man was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger and driver of the Chevrolet were flown to University Hospital with serious injuries. The passenger – a 45-year-old Versailles man – was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver of the Mercedes was the only one wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.
