An arrest warrant has been issued for an Excello woman who is charged with felony theft in Macon County today (Thursday) after authorities claim she stole money from her employer last month and then fled to Alabama.
Ashlynn Ross is charged with felony stealing. A $10,000 cash only bond was set.
The probable cause statement says Ross is accused of taking $4,000 from the victim’s safe on Saturday Aug. 2. The business was closed, but video footage allegedly showed the victim accessing the safe that day while holding a bank bag and concealing something in her shirt.
Ross allegedly then called in sick to work on Aug 8th and traveled to Alabama for 10 days, court documents say.
Ross also told a witness how easy it would be to rob the victim,
