Candidates can begin filing tomorrow for the vacant Columbia Ward 2 City Council seat.
The Columbia City Council voted at their May 5th meeting, to hold a special election for the seat on Aug. 5, 2025.

The deadline to file is 5pm on June 3rd. Residents who wish to run for the vacant seat must be qualified voters and residents of Ward 2 and shall hold no lucrative public office, according to the City Charter. Candidates must obtain at least 50 signatures from residents who reside in and are registered voters of Ward 2.
