A registered sex offender in Fulton was arrested and charged with a felony after allegedly being seen at a public park with a playground and splash pad.

31-year-old Schylur Mahurin was charged Wednesday after the Callaway County Sheriff’s office received multiple complaints over the weekend.

A probation officer who had a GPS Monitor on Mahurin confirmed that he had been at the park on Saturday, and when he was informed by a deputy that he was not allowed to be there, he reportedly responded that he knew that information.

Mahurin was charged with a Class D Felony of being a Sex Offender who was Loitering within 500 feet of a Park with a Playground or Pool. He is being held at the Callaway County Jail on a $20,000 bond, cash or surety.
