A 68-year-old former Moberly police officer has been booked into the Randolph County Jail today (Thursday) charged with second-degree murder.

David K. Heyde, is awaiting arraignment and has been jailed on a no bond warrant, connected to the shooting death of 23-year-old Bailey Scott, was shot dead Sunday night in the 900 block of East Logan Street.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the shooting at the request of Moberly Police Department.
