A 45-year-old Holts Summit man died in a two car crash yesterday afternoon in Linn County. The man was a passenger in a 2024 Ford F-250 pickup driven by a 32-year-old Ashland man, headed eastbound on US 36, that rear-ended a 2019 Peterbuilt that was parked on the shoulder of the road. The big rig was driven by a 39-year-old Shelbina man that was uninjured.

The accident happened at 3:38pm, and the Holts Summit man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver sustained serious injury was taken by ambulance to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield.
