House Suffers Minor Damage in Jefferson City Fire

A structure fire yesterday in Jefferson City, resulted in minor to moderate damage to a dwelling on the city’s southwest side.

At 3:26 p.m., the Jefferson City Fire Department responded to a reported smoke coming from a structure call in the 2400 Block of Bluebird Dr.

Crews arrived to find light smoke present on the basement level of a split foyer residential dwelling and all occupants out of the structure. The fire was located in a basement closet and extinguished. The structure sustained minor smoke damage on all levels.

Fire cause was determined to be accidental in nature. No injuries were reported at the time of the incident.
