Hundreds of free rides for “Blackout Wednesday” Announced

Hundreds of free rides are being offered across Missouri today—just in time for one of the busiest travel nights of the year.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the night before Thanksgiving, often called “Blackout Wednesday,” is known for social gatherings and heavy drinking.

Breakthru Beverage Missouri and Deep Eddy Vodka are teaming up to provide 500 free Lyft rides home in Columbia, Springfield, St. Louis, and Kansas City.

The offer runs from 2 p.m. Wednesday until 2 a.m. Thursday.

Riders can use code BBGMOTHANKS2025 to redeem the free trip.

The Highway Patrol and MoDOT urge drivers to stay alert and sober.

Last year, 11 people were killed and 64 seriously injured in Thanksgiving holiday crashes.

This year’s message: buckle up, slow down, and don’t drive impaired.
