The Jefferson City Fire Department (JCFD) was dispatched this morning to a structure fire in the 100 block of North Polk Street
At approximately 7:49 a.m., crews were called out. Upon arrival, the first fire crews encountered heavy fire conditions showing from the front of the structure. Firefighters quickly confirmed that all occupants had safely exited the residence before initiating an interior attack to bring the fire under control.
Crews successfully contained the fire within 20 minutes and remained on scene to conduct overhaul operations and assist with the investigation into the cause of the fire.
Due to the extent of the damage, the American Red Cross was contacted to help with displaced residents.
No injuries were reported at the scene.
At this time, the cause remains under investigation.
