The Jefferson City Police Department along with help from the Osage County Sheriff’s Department took a man into custody yesterday for multiple warrants.

Augustus A. Armstead Jr, 37, was arrested in Linn at about 5:20 pm on Cole County warrants. Two of the warrants were for Rape or Attempted Rape in the 1st Degree and Sodomy or Attempted Sodomy in the 1st Degree in teh sexual assault of a child

Court records also show a failure-to-appear warrant was issued on Monday for Armstead in another Cole County case where he is charged with two counts of second-degree assault, one count of tampering with a witness and a count of misdemeanor third-degree kidnapping.

Armstead is currently in the custody of the Cole County Jail on a no bond warrant.
