Jeff City woman arrested after losing track of baby

A New Year’s celebration lasted a little too long for a Jefferson City woman.

Thirty-one-year-old Kasaundra Durham has been charged with first degree child endangerment, after Cole County deputies were called out at 6:32pm New Year’s Day to Chaddsford Drive for a report of a missing child.

Turns out Durham was so intoxicated that she couldn’t remember what happened to her eight-month-old child.

Deputies were able to find the child with a friend of Durham’s, who had witnessed on FaceTime, that they had seen Durham and another person driving while intoxicated with the child in the vehicle. The friend then got Durham to hand over the child.

Durham is currently being held in the Cole County Jail without bond.
