Jones arrested for assault at Harbor House

A Columbia woman has been charged with assaulting an employee of Harbor House, after authorities were called to the building on North Ann Street on Sunday at 7:32 p.m.

A man who worked at Harbor House said that he saw 43-year-old Jacqueline Jones arguing with another woman with a child nearby.

The woman said that before police arrived, Jones had pushed her, bit her, hit her on the head with her hand, and hit her in the head with a wet floor sign.

The man said that he was trying to help the child, but lost consciousness.

Officers said the man had a three-inch-long cut on his head.

According to probable cause statements, Jones continually tried to interrupt the police’s interviews and operations.

Prosecutors charged Jones with Second Degree Assault, Third Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action, Resisting Arrest for a Felony, and First Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

She was being held in the Boone County Jail without bond.
