A Boone County judge has ruled that custody of all dogs rescued from the property of accused breeder Melissa Sanders will go to the Central Missouri Humane Society.
Owners have until December 5 to claim their pets with proof of ownership.
Seventeen dogs were seized from Sanders’ property earlier this month after reports of neglect at her business, Magnum Opus German Shepherds.
Officials say some animals were found malnourished or dead, and at least one rescued dog has since died.
Sanders faces multiple felony and misdemeanor animal abuse charges and remains in jail without bond.
