
More outdated and dangerous buildings are being knocked down on the Bagnall Dam strip. Thanks in large part to a $300,000 Community Development Block Grant the City of lake Ozark recieved from Missouri Department of Economic Development.
The funds will be put toward a $433,030 demolition project “focused on improving safety and redevelopment opportunities in the Bagnell Dam Strip area.” The remainder of the money owed for the project will be paid by the property owners, Reese Development.
Included in the twenty-three structures around the Strip to be demolished is the former Shoreland Motel. In addition several residential and commercial structures located on Carls Drive, Ballenger Road, Thornsberry Road, Beach Drive, and School Road, with demolition to begin later this year.
Several of the buildings were certified as dangerous and contain asbestos and other contaminants, according to a release from the City.
