A Centralia Police Officer has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies.
According to court documents, a victim spoke with law enforcement about Curtis Higby of Mexico, Missouri, who court documents identified as a Centralia Police Officer.
The victim said that Higby slammed her against a dresser on February 1st. The victim went on to say that Higby also threatened her with a gun in May.
The final incident occurred on August 9th, when the victim reported that Higby strangled her in from of a baby, but Higby argued that the victim was trying to smother the baby.
Higby was charged on Thursday with two counts of first-degree domestic assault, a count of armed criminal action, tampering with evidence, third-degree domestic assault and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.
He is being held at the Audrain County Jail without bond. A confined docket hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26.
