Both teams were scoreless in the first inning despite the fact  both teams had two baserunners.

Unofficially, MHS finished with 18 runs on 17 hits, six walks and two hit-by-pitches off starting Hornet senior pitcher Kenzi Washington. She took the loss.

The Lady Dawgs countered with Kiersten Ewing, who got the win. She gave up back-to-back singles to start the game and then blanked FHS (5-18) in her three innings, allowing just the two hits and no walks. She added two strikeouts.
