Columbia Police say a missing 75-year-old man was found safe after a search overnight Sunday into Monday.

Officers responded Sunday night around Providence Road and Green Meadows for Phillip McWhorter, who had recently moved from Florida and suffers from dementia.

A Silver Advisory was issued, air support was requested, and multiple community members reported sightings that helped lead to his location.

Police say McWhorter was found Monday and returned home safely.
