The following is a press release from the Missouri Military Academy.
Demonstrating outstanding academic excellence, military bearing, teamwork and physical training, Missouri Military Academy (MMA) cadets earned multiple honors in the 2024 Association of Military Colleges and Schools of the United States (AMCSUS) annual competitions.
Results were announced at the 2025 AMCSUS Awards Banquet held on February 24, 2025, with MMA cadets earning multiple awards in academic, physical training (PT), drill and writing competitions.
In the Middle School Division, MMA earned 1st place in the PT Competition, ahead of Fisburne Military Academy (2nd) and Army and Navy Academy (3rd).
The PT team included Cadets Rfred Cordero, John Farley, Ethan Gachuhi, James “Caden” Grace, and Ancelmo Yanez.
The Academy also took 3rd place in the Academic Awards, following Marine Military Academy (1st) and Army and Navy Academy (2nd).
Team members were Cadets Xavier Bay, James “Caden” Grace, Eli Mumm, and Kie Portuallo-Lopez.
In the Drill Competition, MMA placed 3rd, behind Marine Military Academy (1st) and Fork Union Military Academy (2nd). Representing MMA in drill were Cadets Ethan Gachuhi, Bryan O’Dwyer-Moore, Xavier Bay, Rfred Cordero, Robert Naimi, Samuel Brewer-McGhee, Kie Portuallo-Lopez, Creed Martin, and Grayson Hogan.
In the High School Division, Cadet Ulis Gordon Jr. earned 2nd place in the Writing Competition, placing between Marine Military Academy (1st) and Riverside Prep (3rd).
The high school PT team secured 2nd place, with Randolph-Macon Academy taking 1st and Riverside Prep in 3rd.
Team members were Cadets Jacob Stallone, Deonte Kerns, Alexander McBride, Ryan Miles, and Luis Rey.
MMA’s high school drill team also brought home a 2nd place finish, behind Marine Military Academy (1st) and ahead of Culver (3rd).
Drill team participants included Cadets Duane Thompson, Malachi Imrie, Kyran Carter, Kruze Hagan, Daniel Bravo, Alvaro Gonzalez, Tru Jones, John Trippe, Clayton Reich, and Irmuun Ganbat.
