The Missouri Supreme Court is kicking off its first docket of the new year today.

Justices will hear oral arguments beginning at 9 a.m.

On the docket: Sean Soendker Nicholson v. State of Missouri a case from Cole County that questions whether a state law giving the attorney general special appeal rights violates equal protection.

The hearing will be streamed live on the Missouri Courts website at courts.mo.gov.
