Missouri’s new age-verification rule for pornographic sites in Effect

Missouri is cracking down on explicit website’s.

Attorney General Catherine Hanaway announced Monday that the state’s new age-verification rule for pornographic sites is officially in effect.

The rule requires adult sites to verify users are over 18 before granting access.

Within hours, Pornhub fully shut down access to its website in Missouri rather than comply.

Hanaway called that proof the rule is needed, reportedly saying the company would rather walk away than protect children.

Under the new rule, sites with a third or more pornographic content must use strong age-verification tools or face penalties.

Hanaway says Missouri is leading the nation in online child protection and will enforce the rule immediately.
