Hundreds of residents packed the Montgomery City Elementary Monday night for another heated town hall over proposed data centers in Montgomery County.
Officials from Ameren, the county, and local utilities fielded questions about “Project Green,” a thousand-acre Amazon-backed development near I-70.
Many residents say they left frustrated claiming they still don’t have clear answers on water use, energy demand, or local impact.
Ameren says no rate hikes are planned yet, while developers promise thousands of jobs and millions in new tax revenue.
Despite calls for a moratorium, county leaders say the project’s land approval stands, with construction possibly starting next year.
