Morning Sports 8/29/25

Tonight kicks off the 2025 high school football season. Country 96 Game of the Week is Harrisburg at South Shelby. KXEO will have Mexico at Centralia. More games coming up later this morning.

Mizzou opened its season at Faurot Field with a 61-6 win over Central Arkansas. Injuries hit the Tigers, Quarterback Sam Horn, left the game with a lower leg injury on his first carry of the game and starting kicker Blake “the Leg” Craig had to be helped off as well.

Beau Pribula started at quarterback from Mizzou and threw for 283 yards and 2 touchdowns and also 2 rushing touchdowns.

In baseball, Kansas City had the day off yesterday, they’re at home this weekend hosting first-place Detroit. .

In St. Louis, the Cardinals beat Pittsburgh 4-1 in an afternoon game, Jordan Walker homered and Miles Mikolas started for the win. Redbirds are now on the road, this weekend at Cincinnati.
