A Newburg man is facing serious charges after authorities say he shot and killed his brother Sunday night.

Phelps County deputies arrested 55-year-old Eric Colgrove on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Deputies responded to a reported shooting at a home in rural Newburg, where they found 53-year-old Keith Colgrove with gunshot wounds.

Investigators say the brothers had been arguing over a coffee pot before the fight escalated.

A witness told deputies Eric Allegedly retrieved a gun from his home and returned to the house, where shots were fired.

Keith Colgrove later died at Phelps Health in Rolla.

Eric Colgrove is being held without bond at the Phelps County Jail.
