Construction on the roundabout at West Route K and West Old Plank Road is taking longer than planned.

The third phase of work has been extended because of weather delays, including heavy rain in November and winter conditions in early December.

Route K remains closed to through traffic, with detours along South Sinclair Road and West Southampton Drive.

Originally set to wrap up by December 5, city officials now expect this phase to finish by December 26, weather permitting.

Once complete, Route K will reopen before work begins on the fourth and final phase, which starts December 29 and runs through mid-January.
